Join us for Roundtable!

Roundtables provide unit leaders with the skill to do and the will to do what is needed to ensure that every member of every unit has a great Scouting experience.  They build upon the foundation provided by position-specific basic training and each leader’s commitment to serving youth through Scouting.

Our next Council Roundtable will be at 7pm Thursday, April 8.

Our main speaker will be Shalada Creecy. Shalada is a Licensed Master School Social Worker who currently works as a Teen Intervention Specialist at Belen Middle School, therapist/counselor for a non-profit in ABQ, and behavioral reviewer for adults with development and intellectual disabilities. Shalada also serves on the Belen Consolidated Schools Crisis Team and Threat Assessment Team. She will be giving a very basic overview of various behavioral issues with the different age groups in Scouting, as well as how to recognize more serious behavioral and mental health issues that Scouts may be challenged with, including suicidal ideations. The behavioral and mental health of youth is something that Shalada is very passionate about and hopes to be able to give some insight into these often daunting and confusing topics.

Greg Kelly, Vice President for Camping and Outdoor Properties, will give us an update on Gorham summer camp,. And we'll have representatives from NYLT and Brownsea to discuss their camps.

Please email your District Commissioner or Mary at mary.mazza-andersen@scouting.org for the Zoom invite.
